I work third shift. I love it, but my fitness regime seems completely upside down right now.
Does morning cardio count as morning cardio if I do it after work?
Also, that whole "No eating after 8:00 p.m." rule--does that apply to me?
I hope not.
Right now, I am sitting in the nurses station, enjoying a lunch of cafeteria salad and club crackers (gasp. carbs). It is 1:00 in the wee hours of the morning. I'm pretty proud of myself about the salad, though. You would not believe the rivers of high fructose corn syrup that flow through a nurse's station in the middle of the night.
Oddly, these women are mostly thin.
That messes with my head. These women should all be obese.
First, they are women. Women are more likely to retain flab. Everybody knows that.
Second, they are mostly around 30 or older. Slower metabolisms.
Third, they order pizza/burgers/lo mein in the middle of the night. Did I mention the soda? Or the frappuccinos? We have a Starbucks in the lobby, which shouldn't help our cause at all.
For my part, I still have to fight it. I don't know if the nurses maintain their figures because their jobs are so active, or because of a strict at-home regime on their days off, but I am alert for the answer to this riddle. If I find out, I'll let you know.
In the meanwhile, I'll keep eating my midnight salads (mostly) and trying to keep from falling in the corn syrup river head-first.
